Federal School Codes

You will need the Federal School Code (also known as a Title IV Institution Code) for each college or university to which you are applying in order to complete the FAFSA. The Federal School Code is a six-character code that begins with a 0 (zero), G, B, or E. Be careful to use the correct Title IV code on the FAFSA, because some schools have several codes to designate different programs or campuses.

At least one field must be filled.

Instructions
Use this form to search for a college's Federal School Code using their name. If you do not get any results for your search, try using just the name (as opposed to the name and address) or a substring of the name or an acronym for the school's name. You can also try specifying just the city and state.

Also try using the Smart Match. This takes twice as long to run, but it knows about common spelling errors, abbreviations and other name variations.

If all else fails, call the school's financial aid office or the Federal Student Aid Information Center hotline at 1-800-4-FED-AID.
